SKUGGI shawl is one of a kind creation. Made from high quality icelandic wool and finished with handmade fringe which is felted from finest merino wool with beautiful white shading. This combination creates an unique piece that will add character to your whole outfit. The shawl is soft, light and it can be styled in a variety of ways. Thanks to its size the SKUGGI shawl doubles as blanket too!
What is so special about icelandic wool?
Icelandic sheep have adapted for more than 1,000 years in complete isolation, a harsh climate and rugged landscapes. These conditions helped to create a unique combination of wool fibres unlike any other in the world! The robust heep brought over by the vikings in the year 874 A.D. are direct descendants of those first sheep and farmers have maintained the same gene pool since, making them truly one of the purest breeds in the western world.
No other wool is lighter, warmer, or more water-resistant.
The soft, fine inner fibres provide insulation and are strongly resistant to the cold. Meanwhile, the tough outer fibres are long and glossy, making them water resistant. Icelandic wool is an environmental friendly natural product.
For the SKUGGI shawl, CROWMAD worked closely with Glófi ehf., the largest knitwear producer and distributor in Iceland.
Because of the handmade nature of the products refunds and exchanges are not possible.
All hand felted shawls are one of a kind custom orders. Each shawl has its own details and irregularities which represent its unique quality.
